The war film Rag Desh is sure to grab your attention
‘Raag Desh’ is an upcoming Indian film, directed and produced by national award winning director Tigmanshu Dhulia.The film is based on three officers from the British Indian Army, Colonel Prem Sehgal, Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan, who were prisoners of war in Malaya, Singapore and Burma respectively. While Mohit would portray the character of Colonel Prem Sehgal, Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor will play Colonel Gurbaksh Singh Dhillon, and Major General Shah Nawaz Khan respectively in the film.
The film is set in the times of the World War II and gives us a glimpse of the Indian tricolour with Mahatma Gandhi’s charkha. It also talks about Subhash Chandra Bose’s Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind as his famous calling ‘Tum mujhe khoon do, me tujhe azaadi dunga’ which made several civilians rise up and join the INA to overthrow the British rule in the freedom struggle on the shores of the Irrawaddy in Burma (Myanmar).
The first schedule was shot in Mumbai in the month of July 2016 and the Red fort trial court room set was erected. The second extensive schedule was canned in Nov and Dec 2016 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. where the war zone terrain in Burma was set up and also Delhi where shooting took place in Saleemgarh area inside Redfort where the INA soldiers were held captive. Shooting also took place in areas around Chandni Chowk. The third and final schedule shot on 16 April 2017 in Mumbai. It is set to hit in theaters on 28 July 2017.
